Showers aren’t just for first babies anymore! When the pandemic canceled the shower we wanted to have for my friend's first baby, when her second child was announced we just had to make up for lost party time in the best way, a Unicorn themed Diaper Raffle Baby Sprinkle!

What’s a baby sprinkle you ask? It’s like a baby shower, but less intense on gifts because the parents have usually received or bought most of the things they needed with baby number one. So this party is devoted to gifting small self care gifts to the soon to be repeat parents or in giving those items babies go through most; like diapers, wipes, and bath supplies!

My friend was certainly in the boat of needing diapers and other consumables over your standard baby shower items, so I started designing signs and creating diaper themed decor for this low key and lovely event.

GAMES & ACTIVITIES

The centerpiece activity for this sprinkle is exactly what you’d think it would be, a Diaper Raffle for all the guests to win fun prizes in exchange for their diapers and other baby supplies! I had a blast designing a custom sign and tickets for the shower, where guests would fill out their names on the tickets based on the number of diapers or other supplies they brought to give; with the mama to be helping me decide on the conversion rate for tickets to diapers, wipes, and other necessities based on their prices. This gave us the chance for more than just diapers to come to our raffle, but for those who brought more diapers to have more chances to win!

For the prizes for our raffle, we divided and conquered to make two gift baskets; a movie night kit featuring a movie theater gift card with lots of fun sugary snacks and a sprinkle themed ice cream sundae kit; complete with waffle bowls, assorted sprinkles, toppings and ice cream in the freezer we gave our winner in the way home!

For a fun activity for the guests, and more especially children, we created a simple and adorable Cards for Baby Station, where guests could create their own decorated cards to send a special note to the mama of honor and her newest baby. but my favorite DIY project of the bunch was my own diaper contribution, in the form of a fabulous piece of party decor!

DECORATIONS & DETAILS

For this simple sprinkle at home, I wanted the raffle area to be the main area we decorated, so what better way than with a beautiful Three Tiered Diaper Cake! With some pink hair elastic bedecking each tier and topped with a bunch of curly ribbon and tiny unicorn piñata I found out shopping, this simple and sweet diaper cake was perfect for showing guests where to place gifts, decorating the table, and helping hold up the diaper raffle’s sign; with a sprinkling of pink paper confetti all around for a whimsical sprinkle inspired touch to the table scape.

FOOD & DRINKS

My little unicorn topper wasn’t the only unicorn themed contribution to this sprinkle, but I also incorporated it into my treats! While a homemade corn dip with chips, salsas, crackers, and cheeses made for a lovely selection of savory snacks; the sweet treats are where this party shines!

I wanted to make some cupcakes for the occasion, so I revisited a cupcake style I haven’I had the opportunity to make for a while, tie dyed cupcakes! In true unicorn style, the cake itself was dyed three different pink and purple hues, with each cupcake receiving a unique piped design in white and pink frosting, and of course covered in sprinkles! An added bonus? My extra batter turned into mini cupcakes for the soon to be big sis, who loved the colors and considered them her own personal sweet stash!

While the unicorn and sprinkle vibes were taken up by these tasty cupcakes, our star of the show treatwise has to be these adorable Schitt’s Creek baby shower cookies, made by the personal friend of the guest of honor with some amazing decorating skills, Homemade by Horn! If you are in Kansas and need some cute cookies, this is the place to find them! not perfectly on theme, they were perfect for the mama to be, who adores the show and with how gorgeous these cookies turned out, they are welcome at any party I host!

After enjoying lots of tasty treats, making cards, raffling prizes and watching all the presents get opened; the newest member of the family was all set up with dozens of diapers and a few small gifts, with the mama to be feeling properly spoiled and loved, exactly what we all wanted for this second round baby celebration!
